Now that October is off to a roaring start, it's time to consider the biggest event on the writing calendar. NaNoWriMo by its very nature is designed to overwhelm and consume the entire month of November. So with that in mind, it's time to begin preparations.
Those among us who consider themselves planners are in for a lot of this work during October to get their plans and outlines going. Meanwhile, pantsers will be looking for every little piece of inspiration they can get their hands on before the big day begins. Regardless of how you approach your novel, this time is invaluable.
As of today I am officially in prep mode. I'm doing a little outlining but not too much, I like to find the balance between planning and pantsing. It is on that note that I have decided my 'novel' this year is actually going to be a series of short stories that are linked together, a novel in parts I guess. I'm calling it Nice.
