One of the first things that you notice about people who have traveled to Japan, is that they never have anything bad to say about it. The reason for that lies in the fact that things here are different, but different in a way that makes sense. Everyone has impeccable manners, everything is immaculately clean and hygienic, and around every corner is something new (or old) and exciting. It is as if every aspect of Japan was designed to be a place where everything has a purpose and very little ever goes wrong.
It is hard for me to decide what part of the trip so far has been my favorite. So much of what we have done has surpassed my wildest expectations and I know there will be even more to look forward to. I won’t bore everyone with every aspect of our itinerary (yet) but we have seen so much, yet we have barely scratched the surface of what this country has to offer. I know that we will certainly be back before long, and that we will come hungrier than ever for the unique experiences that only Japan can offer.
In the meantime I am taking notes and writing poems where I can. This trip has helped me fill in some of the gaps in the book I am currently writing, and here there is inspiration around every corner. The next week will see us going on more adventures, making more discoveries, and hopefully having some time to turn these experiences into something creative and meaningful. You will hear from me again soon.
